| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα μεταπτυχιακή διατριβή με τίτλο «Το έργο του Ζοζέ Σαραμάγκου και η σχέση του με τον Μαγικό Ρεαλισμό», πραγματοποιήθηκε στα πλαίσια του μεταπτυχιακού τμήματος σπουδών «Δημιουργική Γραφή» που διήρκησε από τον Οκτώβριο του 2015 μέχρι και τον Ιούνιο του 2017.
Θα αναλύσουμε αρχικά το λογοτεχνικό κίνημα του Μαγικού Ρεαλισμού, το οποίο γεννήθηκε στις αρχές και άνθισε στα μέσα του 20ου αιώνα. Μέσα από την ιστορική του διαδρομή και την εξάπλωσή του σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο, θα ορίσουμε τις τεχνικές με τις οποίες οι συγγραφείς που υπηρετούν αυτό το είδος καταφέρνουν να θολώνουν τη λεπτή γραμμή μεταξύ φαντασίας και πραγματικότητας στα μάτια του αναγνώστη. Θέματα τα οποία θα μας απασχολήσουν είναι ο τρόπος με τον οποίο αντιλαμβάνονται οι ήρωες την πραγματικότητα, η ιδιαίτερη σχέση του αφηγητή με τον αναγνώστη, τα υπερφυσικά και ανοίκεια φαινόμενα που παίζουν καθοριστικό ρόλο στην εξέλιξη του εκάστοτε μύθου καθώς και το ευρύτερο περιβάλλον όπου αυτά λαμβάνουν χώρα.
Στη συνέχεια θα δημιουργήσουμε το προφίλ του νομπελίστα συγγραφέα Jose Saramago και θα αναλύσουμε τον ιδιαίτερο τρόπο γραφής του με στοιχεία από το σύνολο σχεδόν της εργογραφίας του. Η στίξη και η μορφή των κειμένων του, οι αφηγητές που χρησιμοποιεί, η ιδιαίτερη γλώσσα και ο τρόπος που τη χειρίζεται είναι μερικά από τα σημεία που θα σταθούμε με σκοπό να εκτιμήσουμε εις βάθος το έργο του.
Στο τρίτο μέρος της μελέτης θα εστιάσουμε σε επιλεγμένα έργα του συγγραφέα με σκοπό να βρούμε στοιχεία που θα τα εντάξουν ή όχι στο ρεύμα του Μαγικού Ρεαλισμού. Τα έργα που θα μελετηθούν είναι από την ώριμη συγγραφικά περίοδο του Jose Saramago και η ανάγνωση τους έχει γίνει από τη μετάφραση της ελληνικής έκδοσης που υπάρχει στη βιβλιογραφία.
Τέλος, το δημιουργικό κομμάτι αποτελείται από μία νουβέλα η οποία έχει γραφτεί με επιρροές από τους αφηγητές που χρησιμοποιεί ο Jose Saramago καθώς και στοιχεία, κυρίως μορφής, από τον τρόπο γραφής του. The current master dissertation, titled as ‘The work of Jose Saramago and his relation to Magical Realism’, was conducted under the postgraduate program ‘Creative Writing’, which started in October 2015 and ended in June 2017.
Initially, we analyse the literary movement of Magical Realism, which originated at the beginning and flourished in the middle of the 20th century. Through its historic route and its spread around the globe, we will define the techniques by which the writers, who follow this style, manage to blur the thin line between fiction and reality in front of readers’ eyes and lead them to a familiar world and different at the same time. Main topics of concern are heroes’ perception over reality, the special relation between the narrator and the reader, the supernatural and unfamiliar phenomena that determine the evolvement of the respective myth as well as the broaden environment where these events occur.
Subsequently, we develop the profile of the novelist and Nobel prize recipient Jose Saramago and analyze his special writing style by deriving information from roughly his entire work. The punctuation and the format of his writing content, the characters that he uses as storytellers and the particular language style in conjunction with his language management are some of the focused points, in direction of demonstrating a deep and concrete assessment of his work.
In the third part of the study we concentrate to identify key elements within some carefully chosen works of the author in order to determine whether they should be included to Magical Realism or not. The studied literature hails from Saramago’s mature writing period and for the reading process the translated Greek edition, existing in the bibliography, was utilized.
Finally, the creative part of our study consists of a novel of approximately 100 book-pages, which was influenced by Saramago’s narrators as well as by components, predominately concerning the format, of his writing style. | en_US |
