| dc.description | The dissertation entitled “The Art of Books” focuses on the study of illustration-text interaction in books, the balance of visual picture with text content resulting in the aesthetic harmony of the book and its being an object of high aesthetic value. Moreover, the literature review attempts to look deeper into issues concerning the aesthetics and the rules of book designing in modern publishing matters.
The first part of the dissertation begins with a retrospection to the history of books and the literature review is led to the present and the matters that an author, a publishing editor, a designer and a publisher are asked to deal with together with the audience, producing the end result, each new published book.
The second part of the dissertation is concerned with the creative part that involves the brief and concise presentation, the attempt to create my first book whose text, illustration and overall design regarding its conception are purely results of personal creation. In the beginning, the story of the book is cited and later on, the book is presented on a two-page basis, while the experimentation, the decision making and the aesthetic choices that gradually shaped the end result of the planning of the book are presented.
The aim of the research and the attempt to create a book of my own is to discover in practice how a book can comprise an object of high aesthetic value in which the illustration and text interact dynamically enabling the reader to have a multifaceted reading. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Η διπλωματική εργασία με τίτλο « Η τέχνη του βιβλίου» επικεντρώνεται στη μελέτη της αλληλεπίδρασης εικόνας και κειμένου στο βιβλίο, στην ισορροπία της οπτικής εικόνας με το περιεχόμενο των κειμένων με αποτέλεσμα το βιβλίο να χαρακτηρίζεται από μία αισθητική αρμονία και να είναι στο σύνολό του ένα αντικείμενο υψηλής αισθητικής αξίας. Στη συνέχεια η βιβλιογραφική έρευνα προσπαθεί να εμβαθύνει σε ζητήματα που αφορούν την αισθητική και τους κανόνες του σχεδιασμού ενός βιβλίου στη σύγχρονη εκδοτική πραγματικότητα.
Tο πρώτο μέρος της διπλωματικής ξεκινάει με μια αναδρομή στην ιστορία του βιβλίου και η πορεία της βιβλιογραφικής έρευνας οδηγείται από το τα πρώτα ιστορικά δείγματα γραφής στο σήμερα και στα ζητήματα που ο συγγραφέας, ο επιμελητής εκδόσεων, ο σχεδιαστής και ο εκδότης καλούνται τα αντιμετωπίσουν με κοινό γνώμονα το τελικό παραγόμενο αποτέλεσμα, κάθε νέο εκδιδόμενο βιβλίο.
Το δεύτερο μέρος της διπλωματικής που αναφέρεται στη δημιουργική εφαρμογή της έρευνας περιλαμβάνει μια περιεκτική και συνοπτική παρουσίαση του εγχειρήματος δημιουργίας του πρώτου μου βιβλίου του οποίου το κείμενο, οι εικόνες και ο συνολικός σχεδιασμός αποτελούν αποκλειστικά έργα προσωπικής έμπνευσης και δημιουργίας. Στην αρχή παρατίθεται το διήγημα του βιβλίου και στη συνέχεια παρουσιάζεται το βιβλίο σε δισέλιδα, ενώ αναλύονται οι πειραματισμοί, οι αποφάσεις και οι αισθητικές επιλογές που διαμόρφωσαν σταδιακά το τελικό αποτέλεσμα.
Σκοπός της έρευνας και του εγχειρήματος δημιουργίας ενός δικού μου βιβλίου είναι να ανακαλύψω στη πράξη πώς ένα βιβλίο μπορεί να αποτελεί ένα αντικείμενο υψηλής αισθητικής αξίας στο οποίο η εικόνα και τα κείμενα θα αλληλεπιδρούν δυναμικά, δίνοντας στον αναγνώστη τη δυνατότητα να έχει μια πολυεπίπεδη και πολυδιάστατη ανάγνωση. | en_US |
