In the present work we studied the ways in which the perception of reality was transformed during the 20th century, as well as the depiction of these changes, both in the theories of Physics and in the Literary Theories and Practices. We also examined the changes in some fundamental values and concepts related to physical reality, and we compared them with the changes made in the approach of imaginary reality through the theories of Literature but also through the writing practices of Modernism and Postmodernism. From the theory of Special Relativity, to Quantum Mechanics, and from Saussure's semiotics to theories of reading, reality is subjective, meaning is diffused and the reader-observer assumes responsibility for the conclusions he draws and the interpretation he chooses. Literary texts no longer seek the reflection of reality but the search for it.en_US
