| dc.description.abstract | Η Εύξεινος Λέσχη Φλώρινας ιδρύθηκε το 1951 από Πόντιους πρόσφυγες πρώτης και δεύτερης γενιάς και αριθμεί περισσότερα από χίλια μέλη. Σκοπός του συλλόγου είναι η διάσωση και διάδοση της πολιτιστικής ποντιακής κληρονομιάς. Ο σύλλογος στα 66 χρόνια ζωής του απέκτησε ισχυρή υποδομή και αναγνωρίζεται ως ένας από τους μεγαλύτερους συλλόγους της Περιφέρειας Δυτικής Μακεδονίας. Μετά το 1994 θα λέγαμε ότι πέρασε σε μια περίοδο αναγέννησης, με άνοιγμα προς την κοινωνία και ολοκλήρωση της υποδομής του πολιτιστικού κέντρου της.
Στους χώρους της στεγάζει τις φοιτητικές εστίες του πανεπιστημίου Δυτικής Μακεδονίας και εφτά ακόμα συλλόγους. Επίσης στις εγκαταστάσεις του συλλόγου υπάρχει δανειστική βιβλιοθήκη με μεγάλο αριθμό βιβλίων (3.000 τόμοι) με περιεχόμενο που αφορά κυρίως τον ποντιακό Ελληνισμό ενώ παράλληλα λειτουργεί και κέντρο ιστορίας και πολιτισμού (από το αρχείο του Ομότιμου Καθηγητή ιστορίας του πανεπιστημίου Δυτικής Μακεδονίας κ. Φωτιάδη Κωνσταντίνου). Έως σήμερα παραμένουν ενεργά τα τμήματα χορού και αθλητισμού και πλέον ο σύλλογος διαθέτει ιματιοθήκη πλούσια σε ποντιακές φορεσιές.
Η Εύξεινος λέσχη έχει να επιδείξει μία σειρά από αξιόλογες εκδηλώσεις σ’ όλους τους τομείς της κοινωνικής ζωής. Εκδηλώσεις πολιτιστικές, πνευματικές, κοινωνικές, επιστημονικές και αθλητικές. Έχει γίνει ένας πολιτικοποιημένος σύλλογος με άποψη, προτάσεις και παρεμβάσεις σε καίρια ζητήματα όπως η διεθνής αναγνώριση της γενοκτονίας. Ανήκει στα ιδρυτικά μέλη της Παμποντιακής Ομοσπονδίας Ελλάδας και ως ένας επιτυχημένος οργανισμός παραγωγής πολιτισμού έχει προσελκύσει νέους και νέες που στοχεύουν στην κατάκτηση νέων υψηλών στόχων.The Pontian cultural association of Florina, named Efxinos Leschi, was founded in 1951 by Pontian refugees of first and second generation and includes more than one thousand members. The purpose of the association is to save and disseminate the cultural Pontian heritage. In these 66 years of its action the association has achieved high standards and is one of the most important cultural clubs in the region of Western Macedonia. After 1994 it went through a period of regeneration, with great opening to the society and completing the construction of its cultural center.
In this building are included, since 2001, the student dorms of University of Western Macedonia and seven more cultural clubs. There is a lending library with a large number of books (more than 3000 books concerning the history of Pontian Hellenism) and also a Center of History and Culture (from archives given by Fotiadis Konstantinos, Professor of History in the University of Western Macedonia). Until our days, there are active dancing and sports classes and a big wardrobe full of traditional costumes.
Efxinos leschi has threw remarkable events in every part of social life, including cultural, intellectual, scientific and sporting events. It has become a politicized association with opinion that makes suggestions and interventions about important issues such as the international recognition of Pontian Greek genocide. It is one of the founding members of the national Pontian federation of Greece and as a successful cultural association has attracted young people aiming to achieve new high goals. | en_US |
