In the present study, we describe the introduction of a modern scientific topic to primary students in the area of Florina town, that of Nanoscience /Νanotechnology. Especially, we focus on the study of the gecko lizard, whose ability to climb on the walls «defying» gravity is due to the fact of the nanoscale hierarchical structure of the lizard feet. At the beginning, we present some historical facts and important landmarks about this modern content, in order to provide a justification for the educational significance of this subject. Subsequently, we outline the basic principles that we were counted on, in order to design and well as to develop the educational material that we incorporated so to succeed the learning goals. In great detail, we describe the pilot learning environment of the module with a rich photographic material. At the end, we discuss about the evaluation and applicability of the module based on the research results and we provide some implications for further research. | el_GR |
