Κριτική ανάλυση του περιβαλλοντικού λόγου στα ΜΜΕ: η περίπτωση της Μάνδρας Αττικής
Abstract
In this paper, we studied the discursive aspects of an environmental issue and how it is presented in the media. Critical discourse analysis was applied to twenty-seven articles of electronic newspapers and web sites on the floods that hit Mandra in Attica. The analysis of the newspaper articles was made according to Halliday's systemic functional grammar model. For the voices that prevailed in the articles we relied on the use of direct and indirect speech. The producers of the texts have used in their texts basically journalistic data. In spite of the direct quotes of statements made by scientists in order to give validity to their speech, the voices that prevailed are journalists. Ultimately, after combining all the data, we came to the conclusion that the journalistic speech prevailed over the environmental one.
