Η επίδραση της αισθητικής του Πλωτίνου στη διαμόρφωση της βυζαντινής τέχνης
Abstract
Plotinus developing a hierarchical system with the Divine Being dominating at the top and the material at the last level, defines beautifulness with an unprecedented interpretation in its era. Following the metaphysical Platonic philosophy, he reflects and settles in his ideal ambition that encourages us to call beauty trough the soul, defying whatever material. A pioneer of his time, he considers art to be a heritage of beautifulness, including it in the spiritual world. He teaches us that when we create art we exteriorize our inner self and that piece of art perfectly reflects our soul, as it prompts us to cleanse our soul to make fine works. He speaks for the first time in history, for an aesthetic as we recognize it today, he just does not name it. Plotinus‟s metaphysical love reflects the concerns of the people of his time, witnessing their thirst for creating superior and essential. His perceptions of aesthetics were adopted and applied by the Byzantines and prevailed even in the West until the 18th century.
